This 24-story office building is located in the heart of downtown Bellevue, WA. JGL Acoustics, Inc. was involved throughout the design and construction of this project, with the major emphasis on the noise and vibration control of the HVAC systems. The building is served by custom Mark Hot plug fans that serve two floors, so there is an air handling unit located on every other floor. This created an acoustical concern because there was leasable office space on every other floor with a mechanical room both above and below. All of the major supply air ducts in this building are spiral round to minimize breakout noise. By coordinating duct locations with the structural engineer, the main supply air ducts were allowed to penetrate through the beams to keep the floor-to-floor heights at a minimum.
